KELO-COTE® is suitable for keloid and hypertrophic scars.

It is best to use KELO-COTE® after the wound has healed, sutures are removed and any scabs have fallen away.

The recommended minimum treatment time is 60 to 90 days. Treatment duration will vary from person to person, and scar to scar. Larger and older scars may take longer than 90 days to notice an improvement. Continued use is recommended if improvements are yet to be seen after the initial 90 days. 

KELO-COTE is ideal for exposed or hard-to-treat areas such as face, ears, neck, scalp, arms, hands, and joint areas. It can be used on any part of the body except in the following circumstances:

Do not use KELO-COTE® Spray near the eyes, nose or mouth.

Avoid direct contact with eyes, mucous membranes, third degree burns and

open wounds. KELO-COTE® should not be used on dermatological conditions that disrupt the integrity of the skin.

External use only.

KELO-COTE® is most effective on new scars and immature scars up to 2 years old. KELO-COTE® can also be effective on scars up to 4 years old.

Yes, you can use it on both old scars up to 4 years’ old and new scars

KELO-COTE® advanced formula is designed to improve the physiological and cosmetic appearance of the scar. We cannot guarantee that it will make your scar disappear completely.

KELO-COTE® helps prevent hypertrophic and keloid scars forming. It is important to use as soon as the wound is closed, sutures are removed and no scabs remain. KELO-COTE® should not be used on open wounds.

KELO-COTE® Scar Gel UV has added SPF 30 to help protect scars from the aggravating effects of the sun. It is important to reapply sun protection to the scar.

You should make sure your skin is clean and dry before applying KELO-COTE®.

It is important to use KELO-COTE® after the wound is closed, sutures are removed and there are no scabs remaining. KELO-COTE® should not be used on open wounds.  

If you apply a very thin layer as advised in the instructions it has been shown to dry within 5 minutes. If it doesn’t it will mean that you have used too much and it is recommended that you wipe off the excess.

Yes, KELO-COTE® Gel and UV is suitable for use on children from 3 months of age. KELO-COTE® Spray is suitable from 12 months+.

Yes, KELO-COTE® Gel and UV are suitable for external use on your face and body.

KELO-COTE Spray should not be used on the face, but can be used on the body.

KELO-COTE® spray and gel are colourless and invisible when dry. KELO-COTE® UV is slightly cloudy due to the inclusion of the UV filters but should dry colourless on the skin.

It is recommended that you apply twice per day to provide day and night protection and treatment for your scar.

For the 6g and 15g tube you will need to cut the very end of the tube with a clean pair of scissors before first use. For the 60g just peel off the foil seal. Make sure you re-apply the cap after use.

KELO-COTE® Gel is suitable for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Please make sure the nipple is clean from product before breastfeeding.

We have not assessed KELO-COTE Spray and UV for use in pregnancy and breastfeeding, therefore we recommend you speak to your healthcare professional for advice.
