Mr Nicholas Wilson Jones qualified in 1996, completing his plastic surgical training in Wales prior to specialist fellowships in London and Vancouver. He was appointed as the consultant paediatric plastic and reconstructive surgeon at the Welsh Centre for Burns and Plastic Surgery in Swansea in 2008. He is currently the lead clinician for paediatric plastic surgery and consults in Swansea, Cardiff and Newport. Nick is an honorary consultant at the Children’s Hospital for Wales, Cardiff.
Nick completed his masters with distinction at UCL in 2002, investigating in vitro models of scar contracture and collagen remodelling and has continued his interest in the surgical and non-surgical management of scars throughout his practice.
Nick has published extensively and presented worldwide on his many areas of interest within paediatric plastic surgery.
He is an avid teacher and an honorary Senior Lecturer in plastic surgery at Swansea University Medical School, an examiner for the intercollegiate specialty examination in Plastic Surgery and member of the Speciality Advisory Committee for plastic surgery.
Nick currently sits on the Speciality Board for plastic surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.
